Lori Harvey Next Alumni President

I graduated from Platte Valley Academy with the Class of 1987. After graduation, I returned home to Lincoln, Nebraska where I still live today. I attended Union college, and graduated in May, 1990 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Shortly after graduation, I began working with the University of Nebraska as an Internal Auditor and married Monte Harvey, PVA Class of 1986. I worked at UNL for 7 ½ years before leaving my professional life for a season. I had the privilege of being stay-at-home mom to my two sons for 8 ½ years after that. This is the job I am most proud of doing!

I returned to a professional career in 2006, serving as a part-time administrative assistant at College View Academy. In January, 2010 I took the position of V. P. for Finance for CVA. My favorite job duty after making this change was helping to coordinate the 2010 PVA alumni weekend at College View Academy. It was so exciting to see all of you in Lincoln and bring my “two schools” together in one place.

I look forward to serving the Platte Valley Academy alumni and I am anxious to see how God will lead us as a group in the future. Yesterday I can across a statement that I think truly applies to the PVA alumni at this point in time. A devotional writer was expressing the concept that as Christians we are made for so much more than what we actually live out most days. With the changes for Platte Valley Academy in the past few years, some could say that there is little future for our alumni group. I would like to view it differently. I believe that God is not done with Platte Valley Academy, or her alumni, just yet. We are made for more! We can still be a positive support for Adventist Education. And I can’t wait to see how we live that out, shining Christ’s light to others, in the months and years to come!
